Workshop

A workshop was held on 24-02-2012 in Uva management Development and Training Institute for staff of Provincial Road Development Department (P.R.D.D.), Staff of Provincial Road Project (P.R.P.) and Relevant contractors of Part B Road maintenance programme.
The objective of the workshop was explained by Eng. A.A.P.S.K. Karunarathne, Director of Roads. Impotency of conducting this kind of workshops is accepted by the Hon. Kumarasiri Rathnayake, minister of ministry of Road Development, Housing, Water Supply, Consumer affairs & Co-operative and Food Supply & Distribution.
The impotency of achieve the target of the provincial road maintenance programme was explained by Mr. Daya Senarath  the  secretary of minister of ministry of Road Development, Housing, Water Supply, Consumer affairs & Co-operative and Food Supply & Distribution.
The presentations on contractual matters were delivered by Eng. S.M. Jayasundara (Chief Engineer - Planning and Project – P.R.D.D. , Deputy Director – P.R.P.), Eng. Upali Samarasekara ( Senior Engineer – P.R.P.), Mr.C. Dissanyake (Accountant P.R.D.D. and P.R.P.), Eng. D.M.K.S. Dissanayake (Chief Engineer – Badulla District – P.R.D.D.), Eng. D. Chandrathilake (Chief Engineer – Monaragala District – P.R.D.D. and P.R.P.)

 

The Ministry of economic Development has granted over Rs.4000 Million for carpeting of selected provincial roads for 2011.

To commemorate the “2600 Sambuddhthwa Jayanth” of the Lord Buddha, the Officers who working in this department, had followed several religious observance preached by the Lord Buddha, in calm and quite manner.

To enrich the canopies besides the provincial roads, 188 trees were planted in Green Tree Belts of those roads.

The World Bank has allocated Rs.450Million under the component of “Part B” of the Provincial Road Project to maintain selected roads in this province.
